You couldn't miss the big escape game trend. In recent years, we have seen them flourish in the four corners of France. But what is an Escape game? As its name suggests, it is a team escape game. For an hour you will be locked in a room where you will have to find clues, solve puzzles to escape from them. This rather original game is perfect for having a great time of fun or team cohesion and communication will be essential to win. Whether you are with family, friends or even colleagues, immerse yourself in the sensational world of the Escape Game.
Escape Game : but where does it come from ?
Inspired by the famous Japanese escape video games called Escape Room, the Japanese could not resist the desire to make this game a life-size version. On the strength of this success, the escape games then began to spread rapidly in Asia and then throughout the world. In Europe, the first escape Games appeared in Budapest. For France, it was not until 2013 that an Escape Game was created.
Some general information
Escape Games usually accept children from 9 years old but don't be surprised that the age is increased. It is adapted according to the difficulty of the mission and the theme chosen. However, all children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. To play a game, you must form teams between 3 to 6 players, some accept up to 8, but keep in mind that the more people you have, the more likely it is that some players will stay away during the game. If you exceed the required number of players, you also have the option of booking two rooms and playing each other room against room.
There are also Escape games where you can be more than 50 players. They are mostly carried out out outdoors. This type of Escape Game is perfect for a team building or an EVG / EVJF. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, there is something for everyone. Each room has a level of difficulty, varying from beginner to expert. For beginners, do not necessarily rely on the degree of difficulty because it is subjective. Everything will depend on your ability to reason. You can therefore easily choose a room with an intermediate difficulty. For the expert level, it requires a good knowledge of the subject. You must imperatively reserve a necessary time slot so that the escape games can be organized and welcome you in the best possible conditions.
Course of the activity
As a general rule, a game of Escape Game lasts one hour, to which must be added an introduction and debriefing time, each lasting 15 minutes. That's why most Escape Games ask you to arrive early or on time to avoid being late for subsequent sessions (Be careful, some escape games may refuse you entry if you don't arrive on time). Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a Game Master, also called Game Master. He will accompany you throughout the game. He will explain your mission and the rules to follow. Once the briefing is over, you enter the room and have 60 minutes to decrypt all the secrets it contains. If you are stuck on a puzzle, you have the right to ask the Game Master who follows you from his control tower for help. His intervention is either in writing or orally.
At the end of your game, a debriefing is carried out with the Game Master to discuss the session. And before leaving, you will pose in front of the lens to keep an unforgettable memory. The photo will either be sent to you by email or put on social networks.
